JULY 30 6-7:30PM - Bulerías para todos - This festive party dance is one of Flamenco’s most celebratory and fun styles. Get comfortable with the 12 count rhythm of bulerías, learn simple steps and practice them in a supportive group setting!
AUGUST 5 6-7:30PM - Bulerías para todos continued! In the first workshop we learned a little about dancing the cante (singing) and in this second class we will learn about how to begin and end our short bulerías dance.
AUGUST 13 6-7:30PM - Staying in Shapes! This workshop is for ALL dancers to work on lines. Whether you are a new beginner or you’ve been dancing for years, we will cover all the basic posture and arm shapes used in Flamenco. A series of simple combinations will help you understand how we create the stylized lines of Flamenco in the body and set you up for future classes!
Students are welcome to record all material from the classes for reference.
LOCATION: Bembé Drum & Dance 611 S Layton Blvd in Milwaukee. Please enter through the studio door at the end of the driveway (not the main door). Plenty of street parking is available or park across the street in the Mitchel Park Domes parking lot.
