FALL session begins September 4th

THURSDAYS at Bembé Drum & Dance 611 S Layton Blvd.

6:30-7:30pm ALL levels Bulerías Workshop (September 4 - 25): We will be working in the 12 count rhythm of bulerías and learning how to dance ‘por fiesta’ in this class suitable for all levels. Rhythm exercises, footwork drills and a focus on palmas patterns will help you develop (or hone) your bulerías skills. We will delve into different styles of marking steps and work on musical phrasing to develop your improv skills in a fun, supportive environment.

TUESDAYS at ZAOMKE 2319 E Kenwood Blvd.

6:00-7:00pm Flamenco Foundations (September 9 - 30): This class explores all the basic technique used in Flamenco dance from rhythmic hand clapping to footwork, posture and alignment, arm and hand work, turns and musical understanding. Suitable for beginners and for advanced students who want to hone their basic technique.

7:00-8:00pm Intermediate/Advance Technique (September 9 - 30): This class works on more advanced rhythms and footwork building on foundational technique to explore intermediate combinations with emphasis on musicality, body control and ‘aire’.

Each workshop runs for 4 weeks. Prices are $75 per workshop or save 10% by signing up for more than one workshop! If you’re a new student please fill out the registration form so we know how to contact you.

Fall Flamenco Workshops (Four Weeks)


youth classes begin September 11th!

Youth classes will be held on Thursdays this fall at Bembé Drum & Dance Thursdays from 5:30 - 6:15 for ages 6-12. No prior dance experience necessary. This class will guide young dancers in the fundamentals of flamenco dance in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Session 1 Sept 11 - Oct 23

Session 2 Oct 30 - Dec 18 (no class 11/27)

Price per session: $130 or sign up for both sessions for $230

Youth Classes Thursdays 5:30 - 6:15

YOUTH CLASS LOCATION: Bembé Drum & Dance 611 S Layton Blvd in Milwaukee. Please enter through the studio door at the end of the driveway (not the main door). Plenty of street parking is available or park across the street in the Mitchel Park Domes parking lot.

Class Policies

  • Payments are valid only for the session they are purchased for. If space is available you may transfer from one class to the other.

  • All sales are final.

  • Video recording of class material is allowed.

  • Class scholarships available for full time students and the unemployed. Contact us for more information.

Attire

Flamenco shoes or low heeled dance shoes recommended. If you have questions about footwear please contact us!
