ADULT CLASSES

THURSDAYS at BEMBE DRUM & DANCE 611 S Layton Blvd Milwaukee (Six week sessions 9/3 - 10/8 and 10/15 - 11/19)

  • FLAMENCO LEVEL ONE: 5:55 - 7:05pm The first half of this class will focus on FLAMENCO BASICS, foundational technique for all levels. The second half of class combines level one and two for a series of combinations appropriate to all levels. Each six week session will focus on a different Flamenco ‘palo’ and rhythmic style. SIX WEEK SESSION $130

  • FLAMENCO LEVEL TWO: 6:20 - 7:30pm The first half of this class will be combined with level one for a series of combinations. The second half will focus on intermediate technique (footwork drills, combinations). Highly recommended for all dancers in level two to take the level one class as a warm-up and to work on foundational technique. SIX WEEK SESSION $130

  • Each session runs for 6 weeks. Prices are $130 per session or $155 for both classes. If you’re a new student please fill out the registration form so we know how to contact you.   • WEDNESDAY WORKSHOP FOR INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED DANCERS in Bay View 6:20-7:30pm: This series will focus on performance skills. Each three week series will cover a different style (bulerías, tangos, sevillanas with props: castanets/fan/mantón). Class space is limited to six dancers. THREE WEEK SESSION $75. First session 9/16-9/30. Class Payments can be made via Zelle/Venmo or Zeffy.

  • SEVILLANA SUNDAYS! NEXT CLASS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH 1-3PM - A one day workshop to learn the partner dance from Andalucia. Take one hour for $20 or both hours for $30. Class Payments can be made via Zelle/Venmo

Zeffy is a new payment system we’re trying this fall. This platform supports nonprofits and is free for us to use unlike PayPal. You DO NOT need to make a donation to Zeffy - just use the payment link to pay for the class price and enter ZERO in the optional contribution box. This helps us retain 100% of class fees so we can keep costs low for students. Starting this fall PayPal payments will include the additional fee beyond the class price. YOUTH CLASSES SESSION ONE SEPT 3 - DEC 17

  • Youth class for age 5-10 meets on THURSDAYS from 5:00-5:45pm. Young dancers will be introduced to all aspects of Flamenco dance (rhythm, footwork, braceo, castanets, musical understanding) in a fun atmosphere that includes creative games in a bilingual setting. No experience required. SESSION ONE FEE $280. Class Payments can be made via Zelle/Venmo or Zeffy.

  • YOUTH CLASS LOCATION: Bembé Drum & Dance 611 S Layton Blvd in Milwaukee. Please enter through the studio door at the end of the driveway (not the main door). Plenty of street parking is available or park across the street in the Mitchel Park Domes parking lot.

Class Policies

  • Payments are valid only for the session they are purchased for. If space is available you may transfer from one class to the other.

  • All sales are final.

  • Video recording of class material is allowed.

  • Class scholarships available for full time students and the unemployed. Contact us for more information.

Attire

Flamenco shoes or low heeled dance shoes recommended. If you have questions about footwear please contact us!
